ITINERARY

Early afternoon we will watch the wonders of Costa Rica’s nature, rich vegetation, birds, and animals from above, with a Canopy Tour, where you will see the forest from the top of the trees – more than 500 acres of forest with an amazing view. In the early evening, we’ll go for a “night walk” through the forest.

The lowlands host gushing rivers, hot springs, lagoons, remote national parks, and plentiful wildlife. Upon arrival, we will start our hanging bridges tour. We will hike through the humid tropical forest. Pass many bridges from 5 to 100 meters long and up to 60 meters high: spectacular scenery of birds, reptiles, mammals, and insects. At the end of the day, enjoy the thermal water hot springs for a few hours, then return to the hotel for dinner.

Next, we will take a walking tour through the historic National Theater, completed in 1897. The theater is a masterpiece in art and architecture. Afterward, we will visit one of the most unique Museums of Costa Rica – the Gold Museum. After the City Tour, depart to the central pacific coast where Manuel Antonio is located. Manuel Antonio is undoubtedly one of the most luxuriant locations in Costa Rica, with spectacular white-grey sandy beaches fringed by thickly forested green hills. On the way, we will stop for the crocodile tour – a close-up encounter with various types of crocodiles, some of them up to 5 meters in length.

The park has four beaches, each with its special characteristics. You will follow a professional guide through one of Costa Rica’s most famous National Parks that gathers numerous species of butterflies, monkeys, raccoons, coatis, agoutis, two–toed sloths, snakes, orchids, etc. In the afternoon, the Catamaran island adventure begins at Quepos Harbor; cruising through the aquamarine waters toward the spectacular and scenic coastline of Manuel Antonio Park.  Soon you will be in open water and on the lookout for spotted dolphins, migrating humpback whales, sea turtles, and manta rays. You will be captivated by the sight of dolphins frolicking at the boat’s wake or the inimitable sound of a whale’s song. These are the nesting grounds and home for numerous species of marine birds, including pelicans, boobies, and ibises. After touring the coastline, you will anchor in a protected cove within the pristine Biesanz Bay for snorkeling. Back at sunset.

Kashrut on Tours

Only strictly kosher food is provided to our travelers on all our tours. On some of our tours we are able to provide glatt meals. Kashrut is of utmost importance to us and we take special measures to ensure that everything served is kosher.

The meals:

Breakfast is prepared using our utensils. We use local fresh fruits and vegetables, and we use milk products when they are permitted. We use kosher cereals, and bread. We usually serve hard boiled eggs and sometimes scrambled eggs or omelets. At breakfast, we prepare our lunches so that people have their choice as to what they eat for lunch. We bring food from Israel to supplement what is served in the hotel such as cheeses, peanut butter, tuna, etc.
For dinners, we serve either fish or meat (usually chicken) as our main course. In areas where meat is not available nor readily acquired, we will have fish. When possible, we acquire the meat locally from Chabad or other reliable kosher source, and in some cases we fly the meat in from Israel. We try to provide as many meat meals as possible. The main course at dinner is preceded by soup and salad and accompanied by freshly prepared vegetables. Dessert typically consists of fresh fruits.
We do not guarantee Pat Israel and Chalav Israel for all destinations.
In many destinations we have our own dishes and silverware. Where we don’t, we provide disposables at the meals. When we cook in hotel kitchens, we use our own knives, cutting boards, pots and pans, cooking implements and disposable metal trays. All food preparation is done on covered surfaces under the strict supervision of our trained staff/guides who function as our mashgichim.
We make great efforts to assure that our travelers will experience local foods first-hand, while maintaining stringent observance of Kashrut laws on all occasions.

Hotels:

It is our aim to provide the finest hotel possible in each area we visit. We require our hotels to allow us to work in the kitchen and to supervise the cooking and there are many hotels that are not willing to cooperate. They simply have no desire for us to be “meddling” in their cooking process nor are they happy about our bringing our equipment into their kitchens. We work very hard to find the best hotel in the area that will meet our requirements. We are pleased to be able to offer you on this tour two nights stay at “Lands in love” (https://landsinlove.com/). This is a very special rustic eco resort and adventure center, in the middle of a cloud forest. As their philosophy is “care and love for animals and nature”, they cater to vegetarian and vegan guests. They do not serve any kind of meat or fish (including Tuna). Ingredients used by the kitchen are neutral and from kosher sources. The vegetables used are checked for bugs, their dishes were checked to be new, and are used to cook and serve vegetarian and vegan dishes only.
